The University of Kansas Physicians

Strengthening a commitment to patient care

At The University of Kansas Physicians (UKP), we strive to provide patients with the most advanced health services possible. Since opening our doors more than 20 years ago, our focus on growth and innovation to improve patient care helped us quickly become the largest multispecialty physicians group in the Kansas City area.

"Patient care and outcomes increase within a multispecialty physician group," says UKP President Kirk Benson, MD. "Our physicians partner with each other across many medical fields, so when a patient comes to The University of Kansas Physicians, that patient has a wealth of experts to meet all of his or her healthcare needs."

UKP provides the highest quality primary and specialty care with state-of-the-art treatment, knowledge and expertise. We practice at The University of Kansas Hospital and in clinics throughout the region.

Through a drive for continuous improvement, UKP and The University of Kansas Hospital combined to form The University of Kansas Health System on January 1, 2016. Physicians from UKP are partnering in patient care programs for the entire integrated health system, providing comprehensive, coordinated care for all patients.

As one system, the hospital and physicians will be able to provide even more efficient care by using one medical record and streamlining billing and scheduling processes.

As UKP and The University of Kansas Hospital enter their first year as integrated partners in The University of Kansas Health System, both look forward to the shared knowledge and resources that will continue to improve patient care and outcomes.
