Ranked best for over a decade

For over a decade, The University of Kansas Hospital has been included as one of the nation's best hospitals ranked by U.S. News & World Report. The 2017-18 report recognized our hospital in eight medical and surgical specialties. We also retained our position as the best hospital in Kansas City and in Kansas.

U.S. News evaluates data from thousands of hospitals across the nation, considering measures such as patient survival, advanced technologies, patient safety and hospital reputation. The results are organized into 16 specialty areas and updated every July.
