BMT Awareness Night at the K

The University of Kansas Hospital will sponsor BMT Awareness Night when the Kansas City Royals meet the New York Yankees Saturday, May 11, at Kauffman Stadium.

Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch will be Joseph McGuirk, DO, medical director of The University of Kansas Cancer Center’s blood and marrow transplant program. BMT survivor Adrian Trotter will celebrate his one-year milestone post-transplant from the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat, next to his mother, Angela.

Register and Be The Match

A blood and marrow donor registry drive will begin at 5 p.m. at Gate D prior to the game. Minority donors are especially needed. Learn more about the National Marrow Donor Program-Be The Match Registry®.

The University of Kansas Hospital is the official healthcare provider for the Royals. A deep bench of physicians provides physical assessments at spring training and on-site care and first aid for players and fans at Royals home games.
