Pediatric Otolaryngology

Doctor looking in young girls mouth.

The pediatric otolaryngologists at The University of Kansas Health System provide comprehensive care for children with diseases of the head and neck. Our highly trained physicians and staff work together to diagnose both minor and complex conditions and provide the most progressive medical treatments available.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, our otolaryngologists work closely with other specialists in the hospital to develop very individualized treatment plans.

A child-friendly environment

Going to the doctor can be a frightening experience for children and their parents. In our clinics and hospital pediatric units, we create a safe, nurturing and comfortable environment. We use equipment designed specifically for pediatric patients.

In the hospital, sleeping chairs are available in each room so parents can stay with their children. A family room features a TV, sofas, a shower, a kitchenette and other amenities for extended visits.

While children are in the hospital, a child life specialist helps make their stay more comfortable by providing school and play activities.
