National Poison Prevention Week

March 19-25, 2017

Poison Prevention Week

More than two million poisonings are reported each year to poison control centers across the country. More than 90 percent of poisonings occur in the home. Most non-fatal poisonings occur in children younger than six years of age.

March 19-25, 2017 is National Poison Prevention Week. An act of Congress created Poison Prevention Week to encourage communities to raise awareness of the dangers of unintentional poisonings and to take measures to prevent accidental poisonings.
