Choosing The University of Kansas Health System in 2018

Residents of Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and residents of Missouri in select counties now have a 2018 insurance marketplace (exchange) option that includes The University of Kansas Health System. The deadline for enrolling in the insurance marketplace is December 15.

Even if you have already enrolled in a plan and would like to change to a plan that includes The University of Kansas Health System, you can still do so until December 15, 2017. 

Marketplace options

  • Johnson and Wyandotte, Kansas
    If you choose the 2018 Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan on the health insurance marketplace (exchange), you can continue to receive your care from The University of Kansas Health System and your current provider(s). Ambetter from Sunflower Health Plan is the only exchange plan available to Johnson and Wyandotte county residents that includes The University of Kansas Health System. 

  • All other counties in Kansas
    Kansans who live outside of Johnson or Wyandotte counties can choose Medica Connect or Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas Solutions. 

  • Jackson, Clay, Platte and select other counties within Missouri
    If you choose the 2018 Ambetter from Home State Health Plan on the health insurance marketplace (exchange), and you live in Jackson, Clay, Platte or other select counties in Missouri, you can continue to receive your care from The University of Kansas Health System and your current provider(s).

Employer or Medicare Advantage plans

The University of Kansas Health System is also in-network for most major insurance plans offered through private employers and for most Medicare Advantage plans. 

 If you have access to these types of plans, please check the list of network providers to see if your doctors with The University of Kansas Physicians and The University of Kansas Hospital are in network.
