Two Hospital Entrances Closed Next Two Saturdays

Published: 01/05/2018

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Construction work will close two of The University of Kansas Hospital's front entrances for most of the next two Saturdays, Jan. 6 and 13.

From 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., crews will use a crane to hoist materials to and from the third floor of the hospital. During the activity, the hospital's main entrance and entrance just north of it will be closed.

Patients and visitors can still use the entrance to the far north (at the Center for Advanced Heart Care) and far south (at the Marc A. Asher, MD, Comprehensive Spine Center).

Spotters will be at the site to make sure unauthorized individuals stay clear of the construction activity. Traffic lanes on Cambridge near the hospital valet will be coned off but still navigable as the work progresses.

Due to the full schedule for Saturday, the work may carry over to Sunday, Jan. 7.

Construction crews will be removing old HVAC equipment and bringing in new materials to be used in the near future.

During construction on the main campus on Sept. 9, the two main entrances to The University of Kansas Hospital will be closed
