The University of Kansas Health System

Your bill from The University of Kansas Health System may reflect changes from the hospital, as well as many of its physician groups. This includes:

  • The University of Kansas Health System
  • The University of Kansas Cancer Center
  • Mid-America Cardiology, Inc.
  • MidAmerica Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons
  • Jayhawk Primary Care
  • Jayhawk Urgent Care
  • University of Kansas Physicians (dates of service Aug. 1, 2017, and after)

Our goal is to make it easier for patients to see and understand all charges related to each episode of care. You may pay your health system bill online, by phone, by mail or in person.

Patient bill refund policy
If we owe you a refund due to an overpayment or credit balance, we will issue a refund after it has been verified by patient financial services. We will credit your credit card or send you a check depending on how you made the initial payment. For any questions concerning a refund due, call patient financial services at 913-588-5820 or toll free 877-287-6268.

Cost estimates
If you need a cost or pricing estimate for a procedure, call the patient financial counseling department at 913-588-7821.


The University of Kansas Physicians

Your bill from The University of Kansas Physicians (for dates of service July 31, 2017 and prior) is separate from bills regarding The University of Kansas Health System. You may pay your University of Kansas Physicians bill online, by phone, by mail or in person.

Understanding Point-of-Service Payments

The University of Kansas Physicians requires that you pay your co-pay and/or co-insurance at the time of service, as outlined by your insurance coverage.

The University of Kansas Health System requires a $50 deposit prior to service which can be made in advance of your visit or upon arrival. All deposits are payments applied toward your total expenses. Learn more about this policy.

Emergency Department Co-Pay

The University of Kansas Health System requires* patients to pay their insurance co-pay during your visit to the ED. Alternately, a $50 deposit will be accepted and applied toward your total expenses. Learn more about this policy.

*No patient is denied emergency care based on ability to pay at the time of service.
