Elise A. Abicht, MD

Elise Abicht Elise A. Abicht, M.D. specializes in obstetric and gynecological care. She joined the The University of Kansas Health System Women's Health Specialty Centers in August 2015 as a clinical instructor.

Before relocating to the Kansas City area, Dr. Abicht had been a member of the faculty at the University of Illinois Medical Center where she was the director of the resident gynecology rotations and developed a gynecologic ultrasound simulation program for resident education. Her primary clinical interests include gynecologic ultrasound evaluation and surgical management of gynecologic conditions. She also enjoys general gynecologic and obstetric care.

Dr. Abicht received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in mechanical engineering. Before pursuing medical education, she worked in research and development in the medical device industry as well as spent time in medical systems consulting. Dr. Abicht obtained her medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago. She received numerous awards during residency including: Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Gynecology from American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in 2014, Laparoscopic Surgery Resident Award from Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) in 2013 and Gold Medalist at Intuitive Robotic Olympics during SLS annual meeting.
