Since 1985, The University of Kansas Health System's corporate health programs have helped ensure the health and safety of your employees. We offer physical exams, comprehensive occupational and environmental health services, immunizations and additional resources for companies large and small seeking to meet compliance requirements and promote health across the workforce.

Our experienced physicians, nurses and specialists provide a wide range of corporate health services and resources, including clinical services, medical surveillance and pre- and post-hire health services.

Services and programs

We deliver comprehensive, interdisciplinary corporate health services ranging from federally mandated annual physical exams to medical surveillance for asbestos and hazardous materials exposure. Our full list of services includes:

  • The sooner injured workers can see a physician and receive treatment, the sooner they can begin recovery. Our physicians and support professionals provide every patient with prompt, outstanding care.

    Teams in our qualified clinics ensure that all injured workers receive expert evaluation, excellent treatment and effective rehabilitation services. We communicate with employers as we provide the appropriate treatment to support workers in returning to full duty. We provide support with corporate health resources that ensure a healthy workforce.

  • The path to good health starts with sound knowledge. The University of Kansas Health System provides corporate physicals and general employment physical examinations through our corporate health program to meet your company's specific needs. Both programs offer convenient, comprehensive health exams and screenings.

    The University of Kansas Health System also offers general employment physical examinations and special exams tailored to your specific needs, such as pre-employment and annual exams. These also include fitness-for-duty exams or clearance exams that permit your employees to resume specific job functions following injury, rehabilitation or illness.

    Corporate health also conducts exams for employees in regulated jobs, such as those required by the DOT, Federal Aviation Administration and Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Special exams are available for first responders, as well as employees who handle hazardous materials.

  • Our doctors and staff work closely with our client organizations to evaluate and address work-related injuries. We partner with companies to reduce time lost due to employees on the job at less than full capacity. It is our goal to get patients the medical services and support they need as efficiently as possible so they can recover fully and safely return to work at full ability and productivity.

    Our areas of expertise include:

    • Coordination of care for workers' compensation injury cases
    • Hearing conservation and respiratory protection
    • Medical emergency response team safety training, including CPR and first aid
    • Medical services audits, including chart reviews

    Medical surveillance and industrial hygiene

    Our customized medical surveillance programs detect workplace hazards or excessive exposure levels for asbestos, lead, chemicals, noise, lasers and physical and biological hazards. We offer:

    • Biological monitoring and medical surveillance
    • Management of medical surveillance programs and compliance with OSHA standards
    • Pulmonary function testing
    • Respirator medical certification
    • Surveillance examinations for hazardous materials handlers and firefighters
    • Intervention services for large-scale occupational and environmental emergencies
  • Physical and occupational therapists at The University of Kansas Health System's corporate health clinics help patients with injuries to maximize their comfort and physical capabilities.

    Our specialty-trained experts develop individualized treatment programs for those with pain, decreased strength, decreased mobility or loss of function. Our physical and occupational therapists work closely with physicians to help patients recover and return to work.

    We also provide a full spectrum of post-offer agility testing, functional capacity evaluations and return-to-work testing.

    On-site services

    Our physical therapists can provide on-site ergonomic services such as work station evaluations and job analysis. On-site classes are available on injury reduction topics.

  • Corporate health can coordinate a full range of medical screenings and immunizations to keep employees up to date on required and recommended shots.

    We provide immunizations and vaccinations for diseases and conditions including:

    • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis (TDAP)
    • Influenza (flu) – October through mid-December
    • Hepatitis A
    • Hepatitis B
    • Hepatitis C
    • Measles, mumps and rubella
    • Pneumonia
    • Travel vaccinations
    • Tuberculosis

About our staff

Corporate health draws on the vast expertise and experience of a staff that includes occupational medicine physicians, nurses and medical staff.

We offer specialized knowledge, skills and corporate health services in:
