At The University of Kansas Health System, your health, recovery and well-being are our primary goals. To make your experience with us as easy as possible, we have provided you with important information to help you prepare for your first rehabilitation appointment in Kansas City or Overland Park.

New patient instructions

Here are some things you can do to ensure your appointment goes smoothly:

  • Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any additional paperwork.

  • Bring any relevant medical records related to the reason for your visit.

  • Bring a disc of images (x-rays, MRIs) that pertain to your visit if they were not taken within The University of Kansas Health System.

  • Have a list of current medications you are taking that includes the drug name, dosage and frequency use.

  • Have a current ID and insurance card with you.

Patient discharge information

When you have completed your rehabilitation program, we will coordinate your discharge from the hospital. Here's what you can expect from our team:

  • We will arrange for any follow-up care and equipment you may need.
  • We will help make arrangements to provide any additional resources you may need.
  • We will address any concerns or questions you may have as you prepare to leave.
