At The University of Kansas Health System, our epilepsy experts offer innovative treatments for epilepsy that can only be found at the best epilepsy programs in the nation. Our epilepsy treatment program is an accredited level 4 epilepsy center – the highest standard of epilepsy care.

• Our epilepsy specialists believe that you don't have to live with seizures. If you or a loved one is living with uncontrolled seizures, it is important to be evaluated by an epileptologist at a program with advanced diagnostic specialists.
• We have neuroradiologists who specialize in reading MRIs to determine the cause of epilepsy. The custom protocols they use are designed to detect causes of epilepsy in MRI images that would otherwise be missed.
• The only of its kind. Our level 4 epilepsy center is accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers and is the only of its kind in Kansas.  
• Innovative treatments. Including laser interstitial thermal therapy, a minimally invasive laser procedure that treats seizure locations while preserving healthy tissue, as well as responsive neurostimulation.
• Subspecialized, multidisciplinary epilepsy team. Weekly conference where epileptologists, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, neurosurgeons and others meet to review cases together and develop customized treatment plans for each patient.

• Diet therapy. We have registered dietitians who educate, provide counseling and help patients implement evidence-based changes in their diet to treat their epilepsy.
