Specialty Physical Therapy Programs

We offer specialized physical therapy programs in numerous areas to meet your individual healthcare needs.

Aquatic physical therapy

Aquatic physical therapy in Olathe includes treatment, rehabilitation, prevention, health, wellness and fitness in an aquatic environment with or without the use of assistive, adaptive, orthotic, protective or supportive devices and equipment. We provide special interventions for people of all ages with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular/pulmonary and integumentary (skin, nails, hair, glands and nerves on your skin) diseases or conditions.

We offer aquatic therapy using HydroWorks in Great Bend.

Bone health

Bone health is important at every stage of life. As the human body ages, our bones can grow weak if we don’t take steps to keep them healthy. We have certified experts in the Meeks Method, a program designed to prevent, slow or reverse the change in posture that can occur as people age due to poor bone health.

Craniosacral therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. We use this therapy to alleviate pain associated with numerous conditions. Our therapists have advanced training in craniosacral therapy.

Dry needling

Dry needling is a treatment that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying muscle trigger points. This helps decrease muscle and joint pain and improve range of motion and muscle function. We use dry needling to address a variety of problems including pain in the neck, back, shoulder arm, low back, buttock and leg (sciatica, hamstring and calf strains).

Golfing SMART

We offer Golfing SMART® to meet the needs of golfers of all ages and performance levels. Our physical therapists are certified through the Titleist Performance Institute and work with you to develop a personalized plan to improve your golfing mechanics and decrease overall risk of injury.

LSVT BIG and LOUD

We offer the LSVT BIG and LOUD® program with the focus on improving movement and voice in people with Parkinson’s disease. We have LSVT-certified therapists in each discipline of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Lymphedema management

Our specially certified therapists provide treatment, including skin care and therapeutic exercises, for people with lymphedema. Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of protein-rich fluid causing swelling (edema).

Manual therapy

Our certified manual therapists focus attention on the diagnosis and assessment of each joint as well as the soft tissue it surrounds. We use manual therapy to:

  • Change muscle function
  • Improve tissue extensibility
  • Increase range of motion of the joint complex
  • Induce relaxation
  • Mobilize or manipulate soft tissues and joints
  • Modulate pain
  • Reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation or movement restriction

Pediatric therapy

We offer a multidisciplinary approach to pediatric therapy for children of all ages.

Our physical and occupational therapists and speech language pathologists have experience in orthopedics and neurological conditions with a pediatric population. Our therapists work with your child to create an environment of care that is fun and therapeutic and meets their goals personally and developmentally.

Pelvic floor rehab

This program specializes in the evaluation and treatment of common physical impairments experienced by men and women. Our physical therapists have advanced training in the areas of pelvic/spine, bowel/bladder and orthopedic rehabilitation for men and women as well as treatment of pregnancy/postpartum and musculoskeletal issues.

Running SMART

Our Running SMART® program helps meet the needs of runners of all ages and performance levels. Our physical therapists work with you to develop a personalized plan to improve your running mechanics and decrease overall risk of injury.

Sports therapy

Our sports clinical specialists are specially trained physical therapists who provide evaluation and treatment of all sports-related and musculoskeletal injuries.

Vestibular, balance and fall rehabilitation

Our certified vestibular physical therapists evaluate and treat patients with vertigo, balance and movement-related dizziness. We develop exercises based on the actual head movements and activities that cause the dizziness and imbalance problems for you. By performing exercises based on these motions, your brain is forced to confront and resolve these conflicts. This process takes time and effort but may prevent long-term problems or disabilities that may otherwise arise from the disorder. Typically, patients with motion-provoked types of dizziness disorders benefit the most from this treatment.
