The Power of What's Next

An exciting future for healthcare in our region

Olathe Health joined The University of Kansas Health System in January 2023. Since that time, we have been collaboratively planning for Olathe Health to integrate into The University of Kansas Health System in a way that respectfully supports both organizations’ patients, physicians and employees. This planning has been led by an Integration Steering Committee.

Together we will continue to work toward our shared vision.

As one health system, patients will receive high-quality care from the local providers they know and trust while having expanded access to more comprehensive and integrated care.

Where we are now

In December 2023, employees and physicians became officially employed by The University of Kansas Health System and The University of Kansas Physicians. Badges were rebranded and temporary signage has been placed in clinic and hospital spaces to prepare patients and visitors for the upcoming brand changes.

In 2024, we are starting to roll out clinical and operational enhancements in quality, safety and patient experience while providing more care close to home. These efforts include the upcoming transition, in select locations, to Epic, the health system’s electronic medical record.

The brand changes, including names, logos and signage, will follow the timeline for the service line location changes to ensure a seamless patient experience. All Olathe Health locations will be rebranded to The University of Kansas Health System over time.

What this means for patients

Olathe Health uses the Cerner patient portal. The University of Kansas Health System uses Epic's MyChart patient portal.

When integration is complete, patients and providers will exclusively use Epic's MyChart patient portal and electronic medical record system. However, during the transition, patients and providers may need to use both patient portals.

Access the patient portals here:
