Overland Park, Kan. — Is your young athlete eager to step up their game? The University of Kansas Health System Sports Medicine and Performance Center location in Overland Park at 125th and Antioch now offers a 20% discount for early enrollment in its youth summer program.
The 9-week program, which runs June 7-August 6, offers sessions for athletes from age 8 through college age. Sign up by June 4 for the discount.
Athletic trainer Ryan Sloop, ATC, facility coordinator, said the youth summer program targets linear speed development, change of direction/agility, strength training and power development.
Multiple class times provide flexibility to attend as few as 1 session per week or up to 3 per week for middle school athletes and 5 times per week for high school athletes and older.
“It’s a well-rounded program that checks all the boxes of athletic development,” Sloop said. “By committing to training now, athletes can be in mid-season form on Day 1 of their fall season.”
For ages 8-13
- 2 classes available – Youth Speed and Beginner/Intermediate Sports Performance
- Up to 3 days per week, with morning and afternoon times available
High school/collegiate athletes
- 2 classes available – Speed Development and Varsity Sports Performance
- Up to 5 days per week, 2:15-3:45 p.m.
