Overland Park, Kan. — Is your young athlete eager to step up their game? The University of Kansas Health System Sports Medicine and Performance Center location in Overland Park at 125th and Antioch now offers a 20% discount for early enrollment in its youth fall program.
The 9-week program, which runs October 25-December 24, offers sessions for athletes from age 8 through college age. Sign up by October 29 for the discount.
Athletic trainer Ryan Sloop, ATC, facility coordinator, said the youth fall program targets linear speed development, change of direction/agility, strength training and power development.
"This upcoming program is ideal for athletes either finishing a fall sport or preparing for a winter or spring sport,” he says. “No matter what sport it is, we will help you adequately prepare for the individual demands of your sport and position."
Multiple class times provide flexibility to attend as few as 1 session per week or up to 3 per week for middle school athletes and 5 times per week for high school athletes and older. Classes are offered at various times to accommodate fall schedules, including after school and night classes.
"Whether you are working on short-term goals or long-term goals, we can help develop a plan and keep you on track to attaining those goals,” Sloop notes. “Becoming a better athlete takes accountability and commitment to the process. That's where we excel with our athletes."
