Welcome to The University of Kansas Health System

Happy female doctor.

The University of Kansas Physicians is the largest multispecialty physician practice in Kansas partnering with The University of Kansas Hospital as The University of Kansas Health System. With 1,000+ physicians and more than 80 care locations, you are part of a world-class academic medical center. Many of our physicians also provide leading-edge care with The University of Kansas Cancer Center and lead research and academic achievement with the University of Kansas Medical Center.

You can count on the health system's marketing communications, media relations and physician relations teams to support your connections with patients, referring providers and the community.

To consult with a physician or refer a patient, call 913-588-5862 or 877-588-5862.

Physician photos

Photo services uses a self-scheduling calendar for physician photos. Photos are taken 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on the first Tuesday and the third Wednesday of every month. Portrait sessions are booked in 15-minute blocks, which allows time to take the portrait and for you to choose your preferred headshot.

Once you schedule an appointment, you will receive a confirmation email that includes details on appropriate portrait attire and the location of the photo services studio. You’ll also have the option to add the appointment to your Outlook calendar.

If you need to change or cancel your appointment, the confirmation email will have links to do so. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice for any change or cancellation.

Your Find a Doctor profile

A patient-facing physician profile will appear in the physician directory on The University of Kansas Health System and, if applicable, The University of Kansas Cancer Center website(s) based on data from your physician referral form and provided photo. Details about you, such as your specialty, experience, education, photo and more are stored in your Find a Doctor profile, which is powered by Kyruus, a data management tool that allows your profile information to be easily searchable by consumers, patients and colleagues. Your leadership team will propose an initial set of conditions and treatments, as well as other identifiable data to create an initial profile. You will need to review the information we have on file and provide any necessary updates. Having an accurate, updated profile directly affects you and our patients.

Your profile helps you:

  • Appear in top Google search results for patients
  • Show up in the Find a Doctor search option on the health system’s website
  • Be selected by new patients looking for a provider
KYRUUS login screen.

Update Find a Doctor

Log in to your Find a Doctor profile with your health system username and password. Some profile data populates from other data sources and may not reflect the most up-to-date information.

Questions? Email us.

Once you are in your profile, you are welcome to change and update some areas to have it better reflect your personal practice and approach to patient care. This includes clinical keywords that reflect the conditions and symptoms you treat and the procedures and treatments you provide. You are also able to update your personal statement, expertise, languages spoken, practice locations and more, in collaboration with your senior administrator and/or your marketing database administrator.

When crafting your personal statement, try to include the following information to help your audience understand you better:

  • Your specialty and the type of patients you provide care for
  • Why you became a healthcare provider
  • Treatments or conditions you are passionate about
  • Specific honors, awards, memberships, charities
  • Languages you speak fluently besides English
  • Your hobbies and non-medical interests
  • Your philosophy of care

One of the purposes of your Find A Doctor profile is to capture the attention of prospective patients, so be sure to mention the type of care you provide in the first paragraph. Any updates you make will go through an approval process before going live to ensure the health system and your care area are appropriately recognized. If you have trouble logging in, would like additional support or have questions, please reach out to Kyruus@kumc.edu.

Patients and providers searching for your conditions and treatments will be offered your care on a priority basis while you onboard.

Additional new physician support

  • Physicians need to become familiar with media policies and protocols pertaining to posting on social media as a private citizen, video recording, podcast interviews, consent and documentation for patient photography, and other social media use or requests. Media policies are available on 24/7. When in doubt – reach out. Your leadership team and media relations are here to support you.

  • The media relations team interacts with the local, regional and national media and physicians at The University of Kansas Health System. They host live streams on social media channels, report on internal news and broadcast the daily Morning Medical Update on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. If you would like to participate in interviews or other media events, contact News Director Jill Jensen Chadwick at 913-588-5246 or MediaRelations@kumc.edu. If you are contacted by a member of the media, the health system requires you or your staff to direct them to media relations. You may contact Jill directly or notify the switchboard.

Media policy information is available on 24/7.

  • Here, at The University of Kansas Health System, we understand the stressors and pressures that our providers experience. That’s why we created our Professional Well-Being Center (PWC). The PWC offers a variety of services and resources to support you, including counseling services, skill development and event and crisis debriefings.

  • The health system offers an internal SharePoint site to support training on the Epic electronic medical record and reinforcement of optimal outcomes (O2). It provides access to online resources and training materials for ambulatory and inpatient physicians and nurses.

  • As part of an academic medical center offering expertise in more than 200 specialties, The University of Kansas Health System partners with community and regional healthcare providers to care for patients with time-critical or complex conditions through our transfer center triage services.

Our experienced triage nurse coordinators work with referring and accepting physicians to identify the right resources to treat the right patient at the right time. These experienced emergency care and ICU nurses are dedicated to facilitating transfers that optimize quality and efficiency.

  • The University of Kansas Health System provides telehealth services to patients in Kansas, Missouri and beyond. Telehealth visits are an essential tool for our patients. Notifications alert patients to their visit and provide a link to join at the scheduled time.

When you conduct telehealth visits, please use only the health system's approved platform. Please do not use a personal or a free public account for patient care or other work-related video visits. Our health system platform is safe and secure and protects patients’ privacy.
