Playoff Fever Hits Cambridge North Tower Construction Site

October 21, 2015

KANSAS CITY, Kan.— If you've driven past The University of Kansas Hospital's main campus lately, you have seen crew members from J.E. Dunn Construction hard at work on Cambridge North Tower. But yesterday during their morning break, the crew came down with a fever – playoff fever.

To celebrate the Kansas City Royals success in the post season, J.E. Dunn's team hung a huge banner on the job site reading, "The University of Kansas Hospital and The Kansas City Royals: A Winning Combination." This was followed up with a game of catch in the shadow of the new tower.

"We were all having a great time playing catch, hoping to put a smile on the faces of some sick patients in the tower," said Shelly Koehler, Vice President for J.E. Dunn. "Just spreading a little cheer and cheering on the Royals."

Patients in the Center for Advanced Heart Care had a front row seat for the celebration. J.E. Dunn's efforts caught the eye of Rhonda Spearman, unit secretary for The University of Kansas Hospital, who expressed the hopes of Royals fans everywhere, "we're going to take it this year!"
