Special Soap, Special Donation to Turning Point

April 18, 2017

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Indigo Wild, a Kansas City-based company that produces Zum aromatherapy products, is a longtime supporter of Turning Point: The Center for Hope and Healing. Since 2001, Indigo Wild has generously donated $1 to Turning Point for every Betsy Bar – a special lavender-lemon all-natural soap – it sells.

Last Thursday, Indigo Wild marked a special philanthropic milestone with Turning Point by announcing it has sold more than 122,200 Betsy Bars, which adds up to $122,224.38 donated to Turning Point.

Emily Voth, Indigo Wild president and founder, said, "We were thrilled to present the check to Turning Point. This philanthropic partnership is very special because of Turning Point's programs that help people living with serious and chronic illness, like cancer, and our decision to donate a flat $1 for every Betsy Bar sold versus a percentage of sales."

She went on to say, "Our Betsy Bar is even named after a real person – Betsy Medina (pictured right) – who is a 16-year breast cancer survivor and a true 'rock star.'"

"We are so grateful for Betsy, Emily and the Indigo Wild team," said Moira Mulhern, executive director of Turning Point. "These women are incredible and have so much to offer others who are battling cancer."

As Betsy was going through chemotherapy, she found that Indigo Wild's Zum Bar Soap and Lavender Zum Rub helped her dry skin and scalp and didn't make her nauseated. For those going through chemotherapy, the sense of smell is very important as symptoms such as nausea can last for many months up to a year.

Betsy and Indigo Wild worked with their chemical-free products and created the lavender-lemon Betsy Bar, which is sold throughout the United States.
