KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The University of Kansas Health System's Creekwood Family Care and Urgent Care is moving, but not far.
The clinic's 25 employees will vacate their current location at 5601 N. Antioch Road on Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, which has been home to Creekwood for 16 years. Due to the move, the clinic will be closed these days. The newer, upgraded, single-floor facility is about one-half mile north, at 6420 N. Prospect Ave., and will open on Monday, April 9. Both locations are in Gladstone.
"The new clinic allows us to provide more ancillary services in the future," says Rachel Gaines, practice manager. "Patients will have a better experience in a more comfortable, semi-private area. And our building is not joined to any other occupants, making parking more convenient for everyone."
Employees at Creekwood care for an average of 120 patients a week, with family care services during the day and urgent care evenings and weekends. The new site is nearly identical in size to the old clinic.
Among the employees at the new Creekwood Family Care and Urgent Care location are 3 physicians, a nurse, a practitioner, a physician assistant, a dietitian and a social worker.
