TOPEKA, Kan. — The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus has appointed accomplished hospital leader Steve Anderson chief executive officer. He will begin his new role on July 23, 2018.
Anderson has over 25 years of healthcare leadership experience, having led the operation of regional and community hospitals throughout the country. Known for his passion for pursuing excellence in the areas of patient and family experience, Anderson most recently served as President and CEO of Jordan Valley Health System in Utah.
Under his leadership, the three-hospital system achieved several awards for quality, including being named among the top 100 hospitals in the country for women’s, orthopedics, and emergency services. At Jordan Valley Health, Anderson successfully opened several new and expanded services, including a cancer center, pediatric unit, urgent care center, bariatric surgery program, and an orthopedic surgery unit.
"Steve has a proven track record of successfully developing physician and employee teams to enhance the patient experience, while at the same time leading market share growth and program development throughout his career," said Bob Page, president and chief executive officer of The University of Kansas Health System. Previously, Anderson was the COO at Park City Medical Center and administrator at Heber Valley Medical Center in Utah. He also served nearly 20 years at HCA hospitals in several states in executive and leadership roles.

A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Anderson earned a master's degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
