About Me

I first became interested in sports medicine when I was 12. I was an avid runner, but my doctor told me to stop running when I began experiencing knee pain. Rather than give up the sport I loved, I became vigilant about injuries and proper training techniques. After completing my undergraduate studies at Kansas State University, I attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine. I completed my family medicine residency at Michigan State University and a sports medicine fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.

My clinical practice is focused on sports medicine, concussion in athletes and wellness/preventive medicine. I serve on The University of Kansas Hospital Concussion Leadership Team, and am currently a team physician for the Kansas City Royals. My experience over my career includes working with athletes at all levels, including professional, collegiate, elite amateur, Olympic and recreational. I am committed to treating all patients as if they were my own family, striving to assist them in achieving optimal health.
