Care for the whole person

Cancer care at The University of Kansas Cancer Center means a commitment to caring for the whole person, from diagnosis through treatment to follow-up care. This includes support groups to help patients maintain their physical and mental well-being.

Partnering for You

We are proud to partner with the American Cancer Society to help our patients by offering wellness classes, events and learning materials that include:

  • American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge
Located in the historic Quality Hill district of Kansas City, Hope Lodge serves as a home away from home, offering free lodging for adult cancer patients who travel here to the city for treatment. To use the facility, please contact one of the hospital case managers.
  • Look Good — Feel Better
This community-based, American Cancer Society support group teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
  • Brochures in the Brandmeyer Patient Resource Center
The Brandmeyer Patient Resource Center in the Cancer Center has a wealth of free American Cancer Society brochures and other information on cancer and related subjects. Our coordinator can help you choose the brochures to get the information you need.
