School District Partners

Athletic-trainer

Many area school districts benefit from exclusive partnerships with our health system’s Sports Medicine and Performance Center. Through these partnerships, we offer sports medicine and athletic training services in schools throughout the district.

How we help

We provide a full-time certified athletic trainer to participating high schools and middle schools. Athletic trainers offer conditioning, injury prevention and return-to-play assistance to students. They are available during the day to see student-athletes in the training room, and they attend practices and games and are ready on the sidelines to assess and care for injuries as they arise. They also work closely with school nurses to address athletic injuries that may occur during the school day.

Through our partnerships with school districts, students and parents receive:

  • Certified athletic trainers
  • Concussion education and management
  • Direct access to sports medicine physicians, physical therapy, imaging and other medical care
  • Information on sports nutrition and other relevant topics
  • Injury prevention, care and management

Our athletic trainers emphasize complete fitness – not just rehabilitation from a sports injury. We want to see young people develop excellent health habits they will follow the rest of their lives. – Bruce Toby, MD
