Patient Information

What to expect on your first visit

Patients come to The University of Kansas Health System from all over the country for access to a care team that is second to none in its knowledge about neuromuscular disorders. On your first visit to the hospital, you can expect to have a full battery of neurological testing and diagnostic imaging done. It is likely that you will have an EMG performed as well where electrodes are attached to a muscle either through the skin or on the surface of your skin.

How to prepare

Bring all previous test results and images to the hospital when you come for your first visit. Be sure to fill out any patient information and health insurance information that was sent to you when you made your appointment.
